1.1. General objective
The overall objective of this study is to identify potential threats and hazards, and mapping major threats and hazards that happened the last twenty years on the continent in order to contribute to the development of an Atlas.
1.2. Specific objectives
To achieve this general objective, specific aims are proposed as follow:
- Conduct desk-review and compile report on threats, hazards and risks across the continent and sub-continent for development of a continental threat and hazard profiling and risk mapping;
- Conduct a systematic review to complete desk review and map major threats and hazards on the continent;
- Identify potential factors related to those threats (socio-demographic, climatic, etc.);
- Identify priority threats and hazards in all African Union Member States, sub-regions and continent
- Set prioritization matrix for hazards and threats identified ( risk matrix)
- Generate hazard and risk profiling maps for the sub-regions and continent
- Generate a manuscript on the process of hazards identification and risks assessment to document lessons learned and share to African Union Member States.
